One of the panels I enjoy the most at Comic-Con is the Cartoon Voices panel. Each year Mark Evanier gathers an amazing assortment of the best, funniest, most popular voice actors in the business. This year, with his co-host, Earl Kress, Mark got thirteen talented people to lend their considerable skills in a “cold read” of Cinderella. Two groups of Voice Actors read the same script.

The first Cartoon Voices panel included Chuck McCann, Candi Milo, Jason Marsden, Tom Kane, Gregg Berger, Fred (I’m so sorry I can’t remember his complete name), and April Winchell.

It’s just so much fun to hear these people doing voices on the spot for a piece they’d never read before. It takes true talent to pull this off; especially for the narrator; Mark tasked each narrator (first Tom then Dan) to make a completely different voice for every line they read! Each pulled it off expertly.
If you get a chance to go to Comic-Con 2011, seek out the Cartoon Voices panels (usually one on Saturday and one on Sunday).
