Comic Book Haul: January 2021

It’s a new year and a new comic book haul! Check out the video of what I picked up for the month of January, 2021.

DC’s Future state had a big presence in this month’s haul. I got every one of their titles, basically! I picked up a few key Marvel books (I’m so glad I contacted my local shop for FOC…), too. There are also a bunch of great ideas with first issues, and some continuing books I’m reading on the reg. Check out the video:

Prompt: What was the first comic book you bought this year? Write a reply where you tell me the book (or books) and what you liked about it. The fifth person to respond with the best story is elligble. 😁

I don’t get to read a lot of physical comic books since I live in a country that doesn’t really have a lot of comic book stores but I do read a lot of e-comics. But this year I was able to get my hands on uncanny X-Men omnibus (the third volume) for Christmas and man am I super duper happy!! I was saving to buy this one and I’m glad that it was worth it. The X-Men stories are one of my favorites cuz Chris Claremont is such a terrific writer. I’m trash for his storylines lol. There are so many stories that I loved from this volume but ofc God loves, man kills has to be one of my favorites because of the kinds of concepts it covers like prejudice against the mutants. Also, kitty pryde was an interesting character to learn about. It’s crazy how the story is still so relevant. I also really liked Frank Miller’s illustrations. I enjoyed the Brood saga, it was very well-plotted and the wolverine solo miniseries which proved to be a turning point in the tone of his character. Over all, it was satisfying to finally read and own this book and get to experience the X-Men universe which is always a joy!

Very cool! I think reading with omnibuses is one of the best way to get a complete story. Glad you got one! Those are some excellent tales in that volume.
      Thanks for entering the contest!
