<\/a>Always guaranteed to give you a laugh are costumes from the now-resurrected Futurama<\/span><\/a> series. There’s just something about a wise-cracking, foul-mouthed robot costume. The human characters are a little harder to pull off (are there really any good Leela costumes<\/span><\/a> out there?), though. This pair does it pretty well; extra points for the “Kill All Humans” sign, and the can of Slurm. And yes, apparently, you can buy Slurm<\/span><\/a>, as well as some more “interesting<\/span><\/a>” Futurama items.<\/p>\n What can you say about these two? One is on Twitter<\/span><\/a>, and the other on Instructables<\/span><\/a>. He’ll beat you up and scare the hell out of you. She’ll do the same, but you’ll enjoy it. There are many versions<\/span><\/a> of the Catwoman costume since her debut in 1940, all the way back in Batman <\/em>#1. Although, that was not Batman’s first appearance; you’ll have to go back a year and to Detective Comics<\/em> #27.<\/p>\n Not all Comic-Con costumes have to be about bad-ass super heroes or scantily-clad ladies. Sometimes the unique ones stand out. Here is a guy dressed in Steampunk<\/a> regalia. I like the Jules Verne\/H. G. Welles\/Neo-Victorian\/What If?\/Wood & Brass mashup that is good Steampunk. Don’t you?<\/p>\n With real-world parallels to harken back to, the Galatic Empire<\/a> in the Star Wars universe was alien, yet familiar. This Imperial Officer<\/a> looks like it could’ve come from the history books of Earth; the look has entered popular culture and we all know it comes from “a galaxy far, far away<\/em>.” I like this costume because it’s simple and straightforward, and he’s got the attitude to back it up.<\/p>\n You’ve got to admire someone that puts in so much effort for one of the lesser-known characters of the Justice League<\/a>. This\u00a0Hawkgirl<\/a> costume is cool because of those wings. Look at them! They’re bigger than she is! Double points for the helmet, too; I wonder what it’s made of?<\/p>\n The first twist<\/a> in the classic NES<\/a> game Metroid<\/a><\/em>is that you’ve been playing as a girl. The newest twist is that it’s been a hot<\/a><\/em> girl<\/a> the whole time. I was so into Street Fighter II<\/a> back in the day. It was new and exciting with so many unique characters. Yeah, eight. Amazing. When you talk about G.I. Joe<\/em>, you’d better<\/em> be talking about the classic cartoons<\/a>, and not the newest big-screen abomination<\/a>. Same goes for The Baroness<\/a>. ‘Nuff said.<\/p>\n The way to stand out at Comic-Con is to have a great costume<\/a>. The way to stand out from those losers is for you and<\/em> your friends<\/a> to have great costumes. And, and the way to stand out from those<\/em> losers is to base your costumes on the highest-grossing films of 2010<\/a>, based on a comic book, and is a sequel. Here we have the cast of Iron Man 2 complete with Starkettes. The ensemble costumes are always cool, because you can tell who’s really into it and who was just dragged into it because your boyfriend thought it would be cool.<\/p>\n When I interviewed this cosplayer, I heard, “Pika, pika! \nEventually we could play as the four bosses, and then FOUR MOAR characters were added. Let’s just say that a lot guys (not me) suddenly fell in love with an even leggier fighting girl<\/a>. Some guys (not me) drew pictures of her. Other guys (not me) dreamed of going out with her. Still others (not me) played the character so much they dreamed about her.
\nOne thing about this costume that I can attest to is that it’s “authentic<\/a>.” But she’s missing the camo’ legs. Now I can’t truly enjoy the costume, and she only gets a 9.99 out of 10 points from me.<\/p>\n3. The Baroness<\/h2>\n
