The second day of Comic-Con 2010 features one of the best Elektra costumes out there, as well as an excellent and intimidating Darkseid costume.<\/p>\n

10. Supergirl & Darkseid<\/h2>\n

Of the two, I would say Darkseid <\/a>is the better costume. His face has excellent texture, and it didn’t look like a fake rubber mask. I wish I would’ve gotten some closeups because it was truly impressive. I think Supergirl<\/a> looks a bit Emo <\/a>here, however. It’s cool that she’s getting in to character, at least. “Take this<\/em>, Darkseid!”<\/p>\n

9. {Cyber Girl}<\/h2>\n

I have to apologize to the costumed lass in this image because I don’t remember what booth she was in, what product she was selling, or if she was based on a character. I’ve dubbed her The Cyber Girl, which I’m 99% sure is completely<\/em> wrong. It is is<\/em> a nice costume, though, right?<\/p>\n

8. Mad Moxxi<\/h2>\n

This costume has an excellent style. It’s like a playful, sexy, version of the..<\/del>\u00a0Proving that one cannot know everything about everything, I have later found out this cosplay is of Mad Moxxie from Borderlands<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

7. Elektra<\/h2>\n

A straightforward, classic Elektra<\/a> costume. Wait, she’s showing more skin the classic Elektra <\/a>outfit. Well, I applaud her choice in making the character her own. Once again a prefer the comic-book version of a character to the usual Hollywood treatment. C’mon, pants<\/em>??<\/p>\n

6. Zombies<\/h2>\n

<rant>I wish people would get into the zombie<\/a> genre instead of the sparkly vampire and reverse-werewolf<\/a> genre!<\/rant> This troupe really got into the part; from their make-up to their clothes to their attitude. They never broke character when asked for a photo; they shambled into the photo op.<\/p>\n

5. Poison Ivy<\/h2>\n

I’m a progressive<\/a>. And what’s more progressive than an African-American Poison Ivy? As long as she’s got red hair and covered in foliage<\/a>, I’m good. Oh, but I don’t approve of horns<\/a><\/em>! And see that evil guy way in the background with the glowing eyes? He must be a visitor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

4. Nemesis<\/h2>\n

Great costume, great weapon. But he was like 5 feet tall! So we’ll call him Nemeis Jr.<\/a> and be done with it.<\/p>\n

3. {Tough Girls}<\/h2>\n

Once again, I apologize that I don’t know the name of the characters, the thing they’re advertising or any of that. I just hope they don’t beat me up for being so distracted. They’re some tough-looking ladies, after all. I like that each costume is unique and that each girl has an attitude and a style, and that they share the common motif of boots. I notice the details.<\/p>\n

2. Bowser Jr. & Piranha Plant<\/h2>\n

Wow, what can I say. While I never thought much of Bowser Jr.<\/a> as a character (although, I thought he was funny in New Super Mario Bros<\/a><\/em>.<\/a>), I think this costume is amazing. I just marvel at the time and effort it must’ve taken to sew the costume together; not to mention the unpleasantness of being in that thing for hours! The\u00a0Piranha plant<\/a> is hilarious with its cute, sharp teeth.<\/p>\n

1. Pimp Mario<\/h2>\n

This instantly-memorable costume just rules! The concept: take the beloved Mario <\/a>character and mix him up with a slick pimp<\/a>. What’s not to love? I can’t stop laughing! I wonder what Princess Peach<\/a> would look like in this style..?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
