Last Day of 2011: What I Did Today

What did I do on December 31, 2011? This:

  • Slept in late
  • [CENSORED]
  • Brushed my teeth
  • Took a shower
  • Was amazed my dead laptop battery charged to 100%
  • Started a blog post on “new passwords for the new year”
  • Met up with my BFF

  • Wondered if the horrible neighbors had finished moving out
  • Was interrupted for a nap by:
    • Starting a load of laundry
    • Phone call from my parents
    • Phone call from my mentor
  • Sketched a picture of a wizard/squid character
  • Delivered a late Christmas present
  • Opened a cabinet only I could open
  • Drove around to find a place to eat that wasn’t too crowded
  • Had lunch at Luna Grill (good burger!)
  • Had a photo shoot
  • Raced to the Pacific Ocean to catch the sunset
  • Got to the Imperial Beach Pier to watch the last sunset of 2011
  • Saw a lot of fog, instead of the last sunset of 2011
  • Had an amazing, impromptu photo shoot at the pier
  • Posted on Instagram
  • Ate quesadillas at the Tin Fish
  • Stared at the awesome pitch darkness at the western-most end of the IB Pier, into the Pacific Ocean
  • Had a special time in Imperial Beach (“Like visiting a new state”)
  • Drove past my old high school (Mar Vista)
  • Drove past my old middle school (Mar Vista)
  • Recalled the time I was in a car accident back in middle school
  • Sung car-aoke with PmDuarte: Forgiven by Alanis Morissette
  • Drove through some incredibly dangerous fog on the 905 and 125
  • Dropped off my BFF and hugged her for the last time in 2011
  • Visited my parents and hugged everyone
  • Went on a quest to buy dinner at
    • Giant Pizza King
    • KFC (got a photo with The Colonel!)
    • Rally’s (but was closed!)
    • Jack in the Box
  • Pigged out at my parent’s place
  • Watched Ghostbusters II on VH1 (WTH?) till midnight
  • Watched CNN to ring in the new year (Anderson Cooper & Kathy Griffin rock)
  • Hugged everyone for the first time in 2012
  • Texted everyone at the stroke of midnight
  • Left my parent’s place with some tasty leftovers and a great Yoshi bag
  • Listened to Jimi Hendrix on the drive back home
  • Fed my kitty for the first time in 2012
  • Started to change my online avatar
  • Started to change my passwords for 2012
  • Throughout the day had some fun moments in social media:
  • Finished the first draft of this post at 4:30am
  • Finished the last draft of this post at 6:15am and then published
  • Went to bed about 20 hours after I woke up

What a long, wonderful day, huh? Obviously the last few things I did took place on the first day of 2012. But since I haven’t gone to sleep yet, I’m counting it all as one “day.”

The moral of the story? Live each day to its fullest.
