Animosity Review – The Weekly vmcampos Comic Book Club

Animosity from Aftershock Comics has been a breath of fresh air in the world of comics. Mixing a post-apocalyptic story with the animal kingdom is perfect.

From the creative team of Marguerite Bennett (writer), Rafael de Latorre (artist), Rob Schwager (colorist), and Marshall Dillon (letterer), comes a story about a girl, her dog, and what happens when the world is turned upside down as all the animals of the Earth “woke up.”

Humanity has been at the top of the food pyramid for millennia because of our intelligence. But what happens when every living creature now posses rational thought and the ability to speak?

Revenge.

The main character, Jesse, must flee New York and head west. With her is her faithful canine, Sandor, seemingly, the only animal that does not foster a deep hatred of humans.

The art is wonderful, the story is heartbreaking, and the concept is amazing.

I highly recommend Animosity. Aftershock Comics is fast becoming a must-read comic publisher.
